As a progressive accounting and advisory firm, PKF Mueller offers a program that expands the horizons of our team members. Through our affiliation with PKF Global, we allow employees to apply for participation in our Global Employee Exchange Program (GEEP). This is also referred to as PKF GO, PKF’s Secondment Program.
This year we are pleased to announce that Adam Olen from our Chicago office has been selected to travel to PKF Wulf Gruppe in Stuttgart, Germany, through our GEEP.
PKF Wulf Gruppe recently welcomed Adam to their office and interviewed him during his first couple of days there to get to know him better:
Why did you want to work abroad?
I love to travel and explore the world even further away. Just in January, I visited Peru to get to know new cultures and fascinating landscapes. Although I have been fascinated by Europe for a long time, I have yet to have the opportunity to travel there. That’s why I was thrilled when I heard about the program and was waiting for Human Resources to advertise it. For me, this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. I am convinced that nowhere else can you expand yourself as much as during a stay abroad. It is an opportunity to grow personally and develop valuable skills that enrich one’s life and career.
Why did you choose Germany?
Germany has always fascinated me! My grandparents have roots there, which sparked my interest in this country at an early age. But what I admire most is the nature here in Germany – it’s so diverse and exciting! I want to discover and soak up everything I can. I’m really looking forward to hiking in the Alps and exploring the Black Forest. Nature and the stories it tells simply inspire me. Each place has its own story, and I can’t wait to explore and experience them all!
What do you hope to gain from your three months with us?
Of course, I want to enjoy German culture to the fullest, both professionally and privately. Gathering new impressions, meeting new people, and networking with others is exciting. I already feel welcome, and I’m sure this time will be awesome. It will definitely be a memory of a lifetime!
