I graduated from Western Illinois University with my undergraduate degree in accounting before starting my internship here at Mueller. I chose to major in accounting because of the flexibility, endless opportunities, and room for growth. I am currently attending Northern Illinois University for their Masters of Accounting Science program. Following, I plan to study and pass the CPA Exam.

My internship has been very rewarding as I am continually learning new things each day. Working in the Accounting Services department has given me a new perspective of accounting, as you are often told in school to choose between Tax or Audit. I am constantly being challenged and learning new aspects of accounting in real world settings. From day one, I have been treated as part of the team and given assignments and tasks just like any other Associate. I have also been given multiple opportunities to work directly with clients by assisting and providing solutions to them.  This is one of the most rewarding parts of my internship.

I would have to say that my favorite part about Mueller is the people and atmosphere. This was an important quality I looked for when applying to different firms because I believe a good company culture and atmosphere is super important in helping motivate employees.  The partners, managers, and staff are always willing to help and are very welcoming. This type of work environment cannot be replicated easily, which is what I like most about interning at Mueller.
