We recently celebrated our 45th year anniversary. Now, silver and golden anniversaries get all the attention, deservedly so, but being in business for 45 years is pretty remarkable. Each year we try to celebrate more than the milestone though. We reflect on the years of hard work, perseverance, and excellence that went into keeping the firm in business. In our early years, it was about starting the firm and moving it forward. In our later years, it is about being better than the last year.

I would be remiss if I didn’t also mention the element of good fortune or luck. We are fortunate that our employees chose to work here and continue to work here. One of the things we are most proud of is our low employee turnover rate. How lucky are we to have clients both personal and business who believe in us and the services we offer, so much so that they have been with us for years?

We recognized the firms who have been with Mueller over 25 years this past May at our Client Appreciation event. We were able to honor over 30 companies that have been with us for over 25 years. And just this past weekend, with the help of our client’s feedback, we honored an employee recipient of our annual Professional Services Award. Congratulations go out to Cathy Funk, CPA, for once again winning this accolade.

Enough cannot be said about strategic planning, focused programs, top notch service offerings, and good leadership, as they relate to business longevity and success. All are important. The need for a company to be proactive, responsive, reflective, and agile in the business world (buzzwords that people use to describe the reasons for their continued success) is critical as well. Yet simply stated, our past success and the continued viability of our firm, is directly related to the people we employ and how well we serve the clients who engage us.
