She probably has no idea what a ‘Blog’ is, but I’m sure that at least one person will read this after I explain that I’m writing on my company’s website.

You probably don’t know who I am or why I’m writing on Mueller’s website blog.  Chances are you are just really bored at work.  So, thanks for procrastinating with me!

I’m an Audit Associate (big time, I know) at Mueller & Co., LLP, and somehow I’ve managed to stay employed since November 5, 2012.  It’s been a pretty quick 18 months, and I can’t wait to duplicate what I’ve done approximately 25 more times, and then I can retire.  I grew up on a farm in Elgin, IL and graduated from THE Winona State University in 2010.  I immediately started studying so I could get my CPA, which I finally passed during 2011, and then, did nothing for the last time in my life before starting at Mueller.

If you look at Mueller’s website, you’ll see everything that our firm does and/or is involved in.  Hidden away under the Careers tab, there is information about a ‘Global Employee Exchange Program’. Now normally when you read that on a company website, you see it, and think that looks great, but wonder if it is really happening? Well, up until last summer that answer was “kinda, sorta.”  However, Isabella Danisch from Kleeberg, a German CPA firm in Munich came to work at Mueller last June in our Audit Department. She was our first Global Exchange Employee.  By the time she left, it was set for me to travel to Munich this summer to represent Mueller in Germany.

I’m leaving April 21st and in four weeks I’ll be sitting in my own apartment, living and working in Germany.  I will be a contributor to our company’s blog about my experiences while working in Munich at Kleeberg. I was told that the only things off limits for me to blog about are sex, drugs, and politics.  That leaves a lot for me to talk about….

When I told one coworker that my firm was letting me write on our website they said, “Do they know you?  I can’t believe they are letting you do that!” Well, I can’t believe they are letting me go to Germany.
