Experience
Ray is a Director in the Firm’s Tax Department and has over 27 years of experience in public accounting working for a large regional firm.
His specialty is preparation and review of individual, partnership, corporate, and trusts income tax returns primarily for mid-market and closely held firms. Additionally, Ray focuses on providing tax planning, state and local tax services, sales analysis, tax provision work, and entity selection. He is also the lead member of the Firm’s State and Local Tax Group (SALT) where he regularly assists clients during state and local audit examinations, administrative appeals, and other state and local tax controversies. Ray has extensive experience with both state income/franchise tax and sales/use tax matters.
He assumes a leadership role in the Firm’s training programs for tax staff and also is involved in training of audit staff on tax issues. He has responsibility for quality control review of tax returns prepared by other staff members.
Ray’s industry experience is diverse and includes serving clients in the construction, real estate, professional services, retail, and manufacturing arenas. His effective problem solving, leadership, and communication skills strengthen his ability to perform, review and supervise client engagements.
